Mrs. Julia E. Duff,
widow of Clyde L. Duff; lived at address listed for AGM&M Co.
after 1931.
She is Mary T. Elmer's sister. Mary lived with her until she died in 1955. Julia's home address served as the corporation's registered office. It's not quit clear when this started. The house is still standing! From other documentation, the college fund that had been set aside for their brother, Charles, was used to invest in the Portage Mountain Mining Co. about 1906. This evidently was replaced she the stock was sold to someone else. According to family, Charles' college fund was also used to purchase stock in AGM&M Co. The money was never replaced. According to interviews in newspapers, Anna Durkee has stated that there were 14 (other stories have it at 15 women) who formed the company. Julia may have been one of them as she seemed to have a part in the company's address. |
