Mrs. Julia M. Durkee widow of George Waldo Durkee. Julia was born in Canada, George born in NY. Julia may have adopted Anna or Anna may have taken the Durkee surname. Julia was living in Corunna, Michigan in 1900 while Anna was listed as a "friend" in Lettie Craft's home. Anna Rose and Minnie Towler were also from Corunna, Michigan. Edward Rose, Anna Rose's husband was from New York. There were other Durkees living there at the time but I don't know if this is why she was living there or not. Julia's sister, Charlotte, lived in Michigan with her family and it may be that her death was the reason Julia moved to Michigan. Julia and Anna were living in Seattle in 1910 and then they moved to Spokane, WA where she died in 1911. Mary T. Elmer was also living with them and may have been taking care of Julia as she had been a nurse. It's not clear why they were in Spokane, although it is near the Idaho border and there was mining activity going on at this time, In addition, Idaho has a large garnet deposit on the western side of the state. According to interviews in newspapers, Anna Durkee has stated that there were 14 (other stories have it at 15 women) who formed the company. Julia may have been one of them since she lived with Anna and may have had money to invest in a few hundred shares of stock.
