Post Card Collage of Oregon and Alaska Views
The following web sites reflect history and/or research that I have done. I continue to work on Wrangell History. I’m currently working on wrapping up 32 years of researching the women of the Alaska Garnet Mining & Manufacturing Co. The group of women operated a mine at the garnet ledge from 1907 until about 1926. The research includes information about all of the known claims to the garnet ledge area since 1881.

Wrangell Garnet Ledge
I am searching for information on the women who had the Alaska Garnet Mining & Manufacturing Corporation at Wrangell, Alaska in the early 1900′s. They lived in the Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota area. After 32 years I have not only found the original women but an additional group of women who became part of the corporation. I’ve followed Anna E. Durkee from New York to Minnesota, to Alaska, to Washington State and then on to California and Arizona. It is the Arizona mining that Anna came into her own was recognized as a successful mining woman. Do you have information on the following women? Are you related to any of the “players”?
